Orange Business Is Transforming Its Business Model
I recently attended the Orange Business Germany Partner Event in Frankfurt together with my colleague, Wolfgang Schwab. The gathering provided a valuable opportunity to engage with senior leaders and discuss how Orange is redefining its role in the rapidly evolving telecoms landscape. Conversations with the Managing Director of Orange Business Germany underscored the company’s bold ambitions: Orange is no longer positioning itself solely as a telecom provider but instead as a platform-driven network and digital integrator.
At the center of Orange’s transformation lies a comprehensive approach to data management, covering the full lifecycle from data collection and transport to storage and analytics. This is underpinned by a firm commitment to data sovereignty, reflected in investments such as the company’s Berlin data centers and its sovereign cloud offerings, which comply with European regulatory and security standards.
A Platform Strategy For The Future
The platform strategy represents the cornerstone of Orange’s evolution. It aims to deliver operational scale, drive innovation, and create a more agile and responsive customer engagement model. Like other leading carriers, such as Telefónica, Vodafone, and Deutsche Telekom, Orange recognizes that the future of telecoms lies in blending connectivity with digital integration and intelligence. Orange’s approach revolves around three key client imperatives:
- Building trust and security. Security is embedded into every layer of Orange’s portfolio. By enabling clients to adopt zero trust architectures and AI-ready, software-defined infrastructures, Orange positions itself as a trusted partner for secure digital transformation. Its cloud-agnostic services platform provides a resilient foundation for managing complexity while maintaining compliance and trust.
- Driving continuous innovation. Through automation, AI, and cloud-native technologies, Orange accelerates innovation and optimizes total cost of ownership. The emphasis on simplicity, agility, and embedded security ensures that customers can evolve with technology rather than be constrained by it.
- Delivering high-impact use cases. Orange helps clients simplify and accelerate cloud transformation initiatives, providing strategic guidance and orchestration expertise. This results in faster digital adoption and tangible business outcomes.
As Orange Business continues to evolve, its platform-driven model positions it not just as an emerging TechCo and ServCo but also as a strategic enabler of digital transformation, anchored in trust, innovation, and data sovereignty.
