Network APIs offer opportunities for developers to deliver more value to the customer. Network APIs are like a remote control for the telecom network, with a focus on service performance, delivering network and services insights, as well as fraud prevention and identity verification. This means that apps can talk directly to the network and ask for special network features. A network API gives an app a “direct hotline” to mobile networks and facilitates requests for special capabilities like bandwidth speed, user identity, security parameters, device location, and network reliability. Network APIs have been talked about for well over a decade, but recent developments have brought new momentum to this topic. This report provides app developers with insights into how they benefit from network APIs for app design.
