Inetum swoops for Salesforce, ServiceNow and Dynamics specialists

IT services provider Inetum has paid undisclosed sums to acquire a trio of enterprise platform integrators in France.

The largest of the three is the Microsoft Dynamics wing of Viseo, which adds 330 specialists in Dynamics implementation and support services. Viseo stated that the spin-out was due to its decision to focus on its core SAP services business.

The purchase of 47Quai will see Inetum take on one of the larger independent Salesforce consultancies remaining in the French market. The company, which was founded in 2018, has a strong presence in the insurance and public sectors has more than 40 Salesforce-certified consultants.

47Quai was founded by two former Salesforce customers and has specializations in both Sales Cloud and Service Cloud. The move will take the headcount in Inetum’s Salesforce practice past the 200-employee mark. The practice has already achieved Summit partner status with Salesforce, and is also a Strategic Partner for the financial services sector in Europe. It has more than 300 Salesforce certifications in total.

The third purchase sees Inetum acquiring ServiceNow integration partner Proceed. The target company was founded in 2020 and focuses on the ITSM, CSM, and HR modules, combined with a positioning in key accounts and the public sector. The move builds on Inetum’s acquisition of Bulgaria-based ServiceNow elite partner DO IT WISE in 2022.

Inetum has stepped up its M&A activity, as well as investment to drive organic growth, since it was acquired by Bain Capital last year. The company’s over-arching goal is to deliver on the “Upscale25” strategy which has the goal of making Inetum one of the top five IT services providers in Europe, Africa and Latin America.

Based on PAC’s latest rankings, the company was positioned just outside the top 30 places in the EMEA region overall. It has the highest positioning in France (where is it ranked in seventh place) and in Spain, where it is already placed among the top five players.

Inetum’s latest acquisitions are also interesting as they underline how the vendor – like several of its peers – is looking to build on a heritage in custom software development services with more activities around standard application platforms. For those a bit late to the party, acquisitions are a good way to make up ground, although there are not too many independent players available that bring significant scale. But it is equally important to pick your battles and differentiate in what are highly competitive ecosystems by focusing on the industry domains or areas of the platform where you have the most to bring to the table.
