What AWS offers

AWS provides a well-balanced stack of device-level software and cloud services:

  • Device software: AWS IoT Greengrass, FreeRTOS for edge processing, local ML inference, and secure device-cloud connectivity.
  • Cloud services: AWS IoT Core, Device Management, FleetWise, SiteWise, and TwinMaker for connectivity, device lifecycle, vehicle data, industrial data, and digital twins. These services integrate with core cloud capabilities for compute, storage, analytics, and ML.

Strategic outlook

AWS has recently consolidated many IoT products, discontinuing several specialized services. Despite this, AWS continues to deliver large-scale IoT projects and focuses on scalable, cost-efficient solutions for industries such as manufacturing, automotive, utilities, and consumer devices.
