Open Digital Platforms for Smart Logistics Services in Europe - PAC RADAR (internal use) - 2024

PAC has evaluated the providers of open digital platforms for the industrial world in Europe in six segments dedicated to specific use cases:

In December 2023, the World Economic Forum (WEF) published a list of new digital lighthouse factories worldwide. Lighthouses are manufacturing companies that show leadership in applying digital technologies at scale and achieving significant improvements in cost, operational efficiency, and sustainability by transforming factories, value chains, and business models.

PAC reviewed the list of the top 5 use cases of the 21 lighthouse factories and 4 sustainability lighthouses added in December 2023. The aim was to identify trends around the most value-driving use cases related to the digital factory.

Leading factories are moving in two directions: first, scaling digital use cases from the machine and process levels to the operations level; second, from digital transparency and AI-based insights and recommendations to autonomous systems, with autonomous operations (“lights out”) being the ultimate target.

 

The PAC RADAR is an effective tool for the holistic evaluation and visual positioning of leading software and ICT service providers in local markets.
With the help of predefined criteria, PAC evaluates and compares providers’ strategies, development, and market position in addition to performance and competencies within specific market segments.
