The race to define standards for the digital twin concept has begun. US-based Digital Twin Consortium was the first to join the race and is driven by a “Microsoft motor”. Germany-based Industrial Digital Twin Association followed fast with its “SAP motor”. Currently, there is no apparent winner as we expect more competitors to join this long race.
