Expert View: The Impact of the Current Middle East Conflict on the IT Services Market

The ongoing Middle East conflict involving Iran may significantly impact the global IT services market through energy price volatility, supply chain disruption, and rising geopolitical risks. Higher oil prices and inflation can slow down economic growth and delay large digital transformation initiatives, especially in energy-intensive industries. At the same time, the conflict is expected to accelerate the demand for cybersecurity services, resilient IT infrastructure, and defense-related digital technologies. Regional impacts differ: the Middle East faces the most direct effects, Europe is sensitive to energy cost fluctuations, Asia is affected through trade routes, and the Americas are relatively resilient. Overall, a medium scenario of several months of conflict currently seems to be the most likely outcome.
