Sustainability is becoming a hot topic in IT. In non-manufacturing companies, IT is one of the most important energy consumers and, therefore, accounts for a large portion of scope 2 or 3 emissions. As most companies in unregulated sectors pursue a cloud-first strategy, the efficiency of cloud providers becomes a major decision factor. This requires not only that cloud providers take serious steps towards truly efficient operation, but also that they communicate the key efficiency parameters to potential customers in advance and guarantee or further improve them over the coming years.
