AUTOSAR and AGL are big communities and have existed for many years, but they do not drive many innovations. While AUTOSAR mainly focuses on European and US-based auto OEMs, AGL is more centered around OEMs from Japan. The newcomers ELISA and SOAFEE want to push Linux and cloud-native technologies into the space of automotive functional safety. GENIVI Alliance has rebranded as COVESA and is moving more toward the connected vehicle space.
