Top 10 IT Services, ICT Services and IT Security for Business Customers in Germany

For over 30 years, PAC has compiled the most recognized rankings of the leading IT service providers in Europe, broken down by regions, industries, and subsegments.

In addition to the Top 10 for IT services and IT security services, we have now published a ranking of the leading providers of ICT services (IT and telecommunications) for business customers in Germany. The latest ranking takes into account 2023 revenues from IT and telecommunications services, including landline and mobile communications. It does not take into account revenues from private customers, hardware, and software (including pure reselling), as well as wholesale telecommunications.

The leading position of Deutsche Telekom Group (including T Business and T-Systems International) is striking. Deutsche Telekom is the market leader in all three rankings:

• Number 1 in the ICT ranking, far ahead of Vodafone and Accenture;
• Number 1 in the IT services ranking (excluding BPO), ahead of Accenture and Capgemini;
• Number 1 in the IT security services ranking, ahead of Accenture and Atos.

Deutsche Telekom is the clear market leader in telecommunications services and the only telecommunications provider in Germany to successfully offer both IT infrastructure (e.g., cloud) and application-related (e.g., SAP) services. Vodafone and Telefónica are mainly positioned as telecommunications providers in Germany.

In the IT services market, Deutsche Telekom competes against strong rivals from the consulting and IT spaces, such as Accenture, Capgemini, Atos, IBM, and NTT DATA, plus Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, and EY. Some vendors, such as Accenture, Capgemini, IBM, adesso SE, and Deloitte, are better positioned in application-related topics; others, such as Deutsche Telekom, Atos, Kyndryl, Bechtle, and Computacenter, are better positioned in infrastructure-related topics. Ultimately, both competencies will be required for successful end-to-end transformation (e.g., cloud transformation). Plus, strong competencies in cybersecurity are also essential.

Moreover, Deutsche Telekom (this applies to both T Business and T-Systems) is one of a few IT service providers that grew by more than 5% in Germany in the first nine months of 2024.
