TCS opens Pace Port innovation centre in Amsterdam

In May, TCS announced the launch of TCS Pace Port Amsterdam, a new co-innovation and advanced research centre. The centre is the third opened by TCS, joining New York and Tokyo, and is designed to bring to life TCS' Pace Philosophy of unifying assets, capabilities and practices from across the firm to help clients drive accelerated and sustainable change.

The IT Services giant advises the innovation centre will form a cornerstone of a dynamic ecosystem packed with partners from academia, government institutions, start-ups and technology providers while serving as a central hub for TCS to co-innovate with its clients in Europe.

At its core, TCS Pace is committed to leveraging innovation and collective knowledge as an enabler to build a better future. The TCS Pace Port is the fulcrum that brings together all stakeholders to accelerate that innovation and growth. Additionally, one of the core elements with future innovation in mind is sustainability. Firstly, TCS will leverage the Pace Port to give a voice to young talent in the company's sustainability decision-making. Secondly, TCS will focus on talent renewal, reskilling, and building talent from the ground up with sustainability in mind. TCS Pace Port will be an incubator to connect talent with education and infuse sustainability in its operations.

The investment will support TCS' growing business in Europe, which enjoyed healthy growth through 2020 despite the unique economic environment presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. Increasingly, Europe is becoming a strategic focus from the major IT Services providers, as they look for opportunities outside of the U.S. to support growth.

Despite the intensification of competition from its peers, TCS has continued to report strong numbers and a slew of deals with European firms. Including Belgium based insurer, AG where TCS will support the improvement of digital channels and the modernisation of IT systems. In the Nordics, Skanska is partnering with TCS to create the most digitally advanced construction company. And in Germany, TCS has taken on Deutsche Bank's Postbank Systems IT operation which will supplement TCS's capabilities in the region with 1,500 staff with deep domain experience in the banking sector.

The opening of a digital centre in Amsterdam, then, underpins a historically strong foothold in the region. And, as enterprises look to reinvent themselves following the pandemic, TCS suite of capabilities and frameworks driving rapid change are likely to be highly attractive to enterprises looking to transform at pace.
