Business applications (e.g., CRM, SRM, HCM) run in a SaaS model are already being used by 49% of respondents, while another 29% aims to adopt them in the next two years. SaaS-based strategic software such as ERP is slightly lagging behind in popularity. This is due to the fact that users prefer to deploy on-premises versions of the software in a cloud environment, as in some cases the SaaS-based versions lack functionality (e.g., S/4HANA and S/4HANA Cloud).
