Manufacturing - Market View - Switzerland

The Swiss manufacturing IT market continues to show resilience despite a more challenging environment for the manufacturing industry, especially in discrete manufacturing. Although companies have become more selective regarding investment, enterprise transformation programs continue to receive strategic attention. Digital transformation has clearly become a well-established investment priority across much of the industry.

A noticeable trend is the increasing focus on enterprise-wide platforms rather than standalone digital initiatives. Across the companies reviewed, investments are centered on ERP modernization, enterprise data platforms, and AI capabilities that strengthen the digital foundation of the business. The emphasis is increasingly on integrating business functions, manufacturing operations, and data across the enterprise. While most manufacturers are still at different stages of AI adoption, the direction of travel is clearly towards broader enterprise integration of AI.

For enterprise buyers, this means that technology investments should increasingly be evaluated as part of a broader transformation roadmap rather than individual projects. For IT service providers, success will depend less on offering standalone technologies and more on the ability to support enterprise-wide transformation with strong manufacturing expertise. Economic uncertainty may affect the timing and scope of individual projects, but it is unlikely to fundamentally change the longer-term investment priorities in the industry.
