Expert View: STACKIT: Lidl’s Parent Company Launches Cloud Platform

With 500,000 employees in 33 countries, family-owned Schwarz Group is one of the world’s leading retail companies. It operates grocery stores under the Lidl and Kaufland brands and is also active in the fields of food production (Schwarz Produktion) and environmental services (PreZero).          
STACKIT, part of the IT organization and the digital brand of Schwarz IT, was launched in 2018 to drive digital transformation within the group through its own cloud services. Now, Schwarz Group is expanding into a further business area outside the retail sector by making the cloud services offering available to external clients.
