Expert View: Reflections On Infosys EMEA Confluence 2026: From AI Experimentation To Enterprise Transformation

Infosys’ annual conference Confluence 2026 took place in Geneva recently. The tenor of the event was that organizations are entering a fundamental shift in their enterprise AI journey. Organizations are beginning to tackle business transformation, operating-model redesign, and value creation, in addition to AI technology adoption. Infosys’ strategy reflects this, as it is positioning itself as an AI transformation and orchestration partner, which brings consulting capabilities and ecosystem partnerships. Infosys’ CEO Salil Parekh captured this shift when he emphasized that enterprise AI must evolve from technology deployment to orchestrated business transformation. Without exceptions, the leaders from major European enterprises emphasized that technology is rarely the biggest obstacle. They pointed to legacy processes, organizational inertia, cultural resistance, weak data foundations, and unclear accountability as more significant barriers. At the same time, many insisted that they see opportunities for AI agents to transform customer experiences, productivity, and business models. However, scaling AI effectively remains a major challenge for most. Consensus existed that AI has not changed the fundamental dynamics of building business. The competitive advantage of a business still lies in orchestrating technology, data, people, and processes around business outcomes rather than just deploying more AI technology.
