Lutech is an Italian system integrator supporting companies across major industries in their digital transformation journey with an end-to-end offering. In 2024, the company generated revenues of €839 million (+23.2%), of which €33 million came from international operations. Its workforce counted about 5,100, including 50 employees abroad. Since 2021, Lutech has been backed by Apax Partners, a global private equity firm, which has financed acquisitions and geographic expansion. Currently controlled by Libra HoldCO, part of the Apax portfolio, Lutech has made 30 acquisitions in the past seven years, including four in 2024: the Spanish SAP partners SAPiMSA and Netinex, the Italian cybersecurity firm Consulthink, and the industrial solutions provider ABEX Italia. Lutech also expanded domestically, opening offices in Naples, Bari, Cosenza, and Florence.
PAC thinks these moves will strengthen Lutech’s position as a comprehensive global provider. However, rapid acquisitions may create governance challenges. To remain competitive and attractive amid rumors of a potential Apax exit, Lutech must streamline its structure, focus on integration, and divest non-core businesses. Major European private equity firms and Italian IT providers have shown interest in acquiring Lutech.
Strategically speaking, Lutech’s approach spans three stages: Innovation Advisory (Think), Design & Delivery (Create), and Operate & Optimize (Maximize). The company has expertise in cloud, cybersecurity, AI, IoT, hyper-automation, digital twins, and sector-specific solutions. It has also invested in internal innovation through initiatives such as the Lutech BrAIn AI platform, Lutech Campus, collaborations with Italian universities, and a new Global Competence Center in Tirana.
This Vendor Profile provides more details and an assessment of Lutech’s strategy and positioning, plus a detailed analysis of its offerings, vertical expertise, and performance.
