PAC INNOVATION RADAR: Google Cloud Platform (GCP) capabilities in Europe, France, and Germany
In a series of three PAC INNOVATION RADAR analyses, PAC evaluates the leading IT service providers with regard to their Google Cloud Platform (GCP) capabilities in Europe, France, and Germany.
Paris, January 14, 2025 – PAC, the leading European IT consulting and market research firm, today publishes three PAC INNOVATION RADAR reports presenting a detailed analysis of the IT service provider landscape around the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in Europe, France, and Germany. The service providers are assessed on the basis of over 50 criteria to help companies select the best partner and create the most value from their migration to the cloud and the deployment of GCP services. The 20 IT service providers evaluated range from major international players, such as Accenture and Capgemini, to large European players, such as Devoteam and T-Systems.
The adoption of public cloud offerings has been staggering over the past few years and the IaaS/PaaS market continues to be one of the most dynamic segments of the IT services industry. Public cloud platforms provide on-demand access to computing resources, data storage, and applications, eliminating the need for burdensome on-premises infrastructure. This has transformed the way businesses operate, offering scalable, flexible, and cost-efficient solutions that have accelerated the adoption of digital technologies and enabled businesses to innovate at an unprecedented pace. By leveraging cloud capabilities, organizations are better positioned to respond to market demands, improve customer experience, and drive growth.
The IaaS/PaaS landscape has been dominated by three American players, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), However, the hybrid-cloud models have emerged as the new standard, with enterprises opting for a combination of public and private configuration and often choosing more than one public cloud provider to benefit from the most suitable services and to allow some degree of competition and reversibility. It is therefore increasingly vital for companies to assess the capabilities of their cloud providers, not only in terms of specific technology, but also concerning the desired business outcomes they seek.
In this context, IT service giants, large consultancies, and innovative boutiques have formed a varied and dynamic ecosystem of IT service providers catering to what seems like insatiable enterprise demand for new cloud services. For these providers, developing points of differentiation is a challenging prospect, and many are aggressively investing in talent, assets, and solutions to forge ahead and gain market share in this growing market.
