Infosys’ Microsoft Practice in a strong position to support global clients
PAC recently had the opportunity to engage with Infosys’ Microsoft practice, discussing Infosys’ Microsoft business applications and modern work capabilities (Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, Azure, Nuance, Digital Contact Center, Synapse..), market dynamics, and the evolving Microsoft ecosystem.
According to its practice leads, it has experienced significant growth due to industries redefining their operations supported by as-a-service models, maximizing value while creating more synergies between (cloud) applications, and, overall, accelerating business outcomes and success through technology.
To support this growth, Infosys’ go-to-market motions its long-standing Microsoft partnership and expertise through consulting-led delivery (Microsoft Business Consulting Community) supported by its industry IP and ecosystem partnerships. The overall Microsoft practice has over 6,500 consultants (20-30% in EMEA) with over 8,000 Microsoft certifications (800+ Power Platform certifications) and over 300 customers globally. UK and Germany showed the strongest demand in 2022, followed by Nordics ,France, and the Middle East in the EMEA region.
This demand stems from different industries with vertical-specific requirements. For example, Infosys is seeing greater demand for Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O (ERP) in manufacturing and Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE (CRM) and Power Platform (Microsoft’s Low Code No Code Platform) in financial services on top of core Azure infrastructure.
While the Power Platform is not yet at the core for many (showing signs of growth), Infosys is a strong partner in integrating Microsoft (and other) applications. Notably, post acquisitions/mergers while supporting global rollouts/market penetration, something where boutique players and smaller SIs lack resources and know-how. A significant share of projects also tackle data that’s not housed in mainstream IT applications but still in basic excel spreadsheets or custom apps. Transforming where this data is housed, Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Pages are adding significant value, saving time, providing automated insights, connecting the wider ecosystem, etc.
Infosys claims to be in a strong position to support large enterprises and multi-year, complex engagements. Most engagements are about the digital transformation agenda (at CxO level) while leveraging its deep vertical and application platform understanding. Infosys offers end-to-end capabilities from transformation, implementation/delivery, and continuous support, including on-premise and cloud, e.g., monitoring, application management, etc.
To better support its clients, Infosys has aligned its proposition with Microsoft’s industry cloud (e.g., Microsoft Cloud for Financial Services, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Retail, and Nonprofit).
For example, a large Dutch bank headquartered in Amsterdam and a long-standing Infosys customer, embraced an Azure-First data strategy in April 2021. Infosys enabled the bank to further leverage its Azure Cloud environment by seamlessly adopting and integrating Microsoft apps, including CRM and Power Platform, adding greater agility, while streamlining workflows.
Overall, PAC sees significant value in Infosys’ integrated Microsoft practice proposition. Having built its offerings and expertise around its long-standing Microsoft partnership while leveraging its global resources and scale, positions Infosys in a niche segment of SIs able to help CxOs of large enterprises in their digital transformation journey.
