First Vendor Rankings by 2021 revenue

We recently published our first software and IT-services vendors rankings at global and regional level for both fiscal year 2021 (FY ending in 2021) and calendar year 2021. And there are quite a few changes in a few rankings!

Among others, we have a new leader on the IT Services market: Accenture, with a remarkable +15% in 2021. IBM led this market for decades, they are now 2, even combined with Kyndryl. TCS remains 3, Capgemini (highest growth within the top 10) won 3 places, Fujitsu round out the top 5, followed by NTT Data, Kyndryl, Deloitte, Cognizant and DXC (which lost 4 places).

Obviously the performances varied strongly between the vendors with 6 companies (Accenture, TCS, Capgemini, Infosys, Tencent, Wipro) within the top 20 posting 2-digits-growth while 6 companies (Fujitsu, Kyndryl, DXC, Atos, Hitachi and Dell) reported decreasing revenue (even two-digits in case of DXC). Note: both M&As and exchange rates impacted the growth. Companies like Accenture and Capgemini took advantage of external growth; Japanese providers were negatively impacted by the currency rates; DXC was negatively impacted by the disposal of the Healthcare business.

For comparison: 10 years ago, IBM was leading the IT Services market with 8% market share, ahead of HP (5%), Accenture (3%), Fujitsu (2.8%) and CSC (2%). DXC (resulting from the merger of HP Enterprise Services and CSC in 2017) would have been a EUR 35 bn services company (ie, 6.6% market share in 2011).
