Figure of the day: Expected growth of the SITS market in the Swiss public sector

Digitalization has been significantly changing the Swiss public sector. Although the country has been making significant progress in terms of digitalization (thanks to the various initiatives the country has been pushing), the Swiss public sector is still lagging behind other countries (e.g. Estonia, Denmark). According to PAC’s CxO Survey, the need to digitize and optimize internal processes (operational excellence) continues to be the main driver for IT spending in the public sector. Based on PAC’s market forecasts, the software (market share: 36%) and IT services market (market share: 64%) in the Swiss public sector is expected to grow by 3.9% to CHF 2.21 billion in 2021 (2020: CHF 2.04 billion).
