Insurance - InBrief Analysis - Italy

This InBrief Analysis examines digital transformation initiatives in the Italian insurance sector.

In 2024, the Italian insurance sector grew fast (+16%), recording €151.4 billion in premiums, driven mainly by the life segment (+19.5%) and, to a lesser extent, non-life (+7.5%). ANIA expects growth of over 8% in 2025.

Companies focus on improving efficiency, expanding their product offerings, and optimizing commercial processes.

IT and digitalization initiatives play a key role, especially in data management, analytics, AI, IoT-based services, application modernization, and cloud adoption. Investments in cybersecurity also remain strong, covering staff training, regulatory compliance, process enhancement, and consolidation of existing security infrastructures.
