Expert View: Security Must Follow the Data Across Cloud and SaaS Environments

Cloud, SaaS, and data security can no longer be managed as separate disciplines. The critical issue is whether organizations can maintain control over sensitive data across cloud platforms, SaaS applications, data environments, APIs, and AI services while meeting the security, privacy, resilience, and auditability requirements applicable to that data.
Security must follow the data. Organizations need a unified view of where critical data resides, what regulatory and compliance obligations apply, who or what can access it and why, how it can move, how long it should remain available, and whether it can be recovered.
