COVID-19 caused the perfect chaos for supply chains, with governments imposing draconian border controls and restricting free movement, combined with raw material processing factories shutting down, shipping container shortages, truck driver shortages, and the list goes on and on. Simultaneously, sustainability has become a top priority on businesses’ agenda to meet zero-carbon goals and improve the brand perception among customers and employees. As a consequence, there is strong pressure for supply chain transformation and modernization.
