Figure of the day: Manufacturing industry - share SITS market - Germany

The German manufacturing industry accounts for more than 35% of the total software and IT services (SITS) market. This is clearly above its overall contribution to Germany’s gross domestic product (close to 30%) and reflects current investments in digital transformation projects to increase the competitiveness of the German manufacturing industry.

Generally speaking, while the further economic outlook for 2021 for the German manufacturing industry is slowing down, PAC expects that the high level of investment in IT projects will continue. There is simply no plan B for manufacturing companies, other than driving forward efficiency gains and new services based on digital technology.
